What is a “Cream City Brick” and where did it come from?? Cream City brick is a cream or light yellow-colored brick made from a clay found around Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the Menomonee River Valley and on the western banks of Lake Michigan. Cream City bricks were widely exported, making their way not only to American cities such as Chicago and New York, but also to western Europe.
The resurgence of the color throughout Milwaukee culture is largely supported by the Milwaukee Bucks adopting the color in 2015, and cream-colored Milwaukee Brewers uniforms featuring the Cream City brick logo debuting in 2019.
As a proud Milwaukee, WI resident I started incorporating Cream City brick into my NFT ventures. In 2018 “Cream City Brick” cats were officially recognized as a Kitty Variety by the CryptoKitties team. Then, in 2019, I received the world’s first Axie Infinity tattoo, astutely named, “Cream City Brick.”
Axie #19249, also known as “Cream City Brick,” is the 5th Dawn Axie ever born, and the first Axie with the #FEFDB0, “Cream City Brick,” body color. I was gifted the Axie by legendary player, Coco, for the purposes of getting it tattooed on my back. Due to the hightened notoriety, this Axie has been mentioned in the Dagens Næringsliv newspaper, CoinDesk Korea, and even the Community section of the Axie infinity White Paper.
When I was deciding which virtual pet to get inked for life I knew a second layer of importance was necessary for my decision. While it wasn’t the cutest Axie, it was the first Axie born this color and played beautifully with my theme of hometown pride.
As Jihoz, the Axie Infinity Growth Lead, has stated on multiple occasions, “Axie is not just about disrupting gaming… It’s about disrupting the 100 Billion dollar pet industry.” Axie is able to accomplish this by creating truly personal relationships with our digital creatures, starting with their unique genetic makeup. There are currently 1,000+ Cream City brick-colored Axie in the Axie Infinity universe, but only one that was firstborn.
Today, we’re excited to announce the Axie Infinity Tattoo Reward Program. Axie #19249, “Cream City Brick,” has been fractionalized on the NIFTEX platform into 100,000 $CREAM shards. The first 100 Axie Infinity players to get Axie Infinity tattoos will earn 500 $CREAM each.
Your submission to earn Cream City Brick ($CREAM) shards must meet the following criteria:
- You must receive x1 permanent ink Axie Infinity tattoo. The tattoo can be an Axie, or anything instantly recognizable from the Axie Infinity Universe. The size and location is up to your discretion.
- Take a video of the tattoo process and mint it on Rarible.
